First books this year: Pride and Prejudice and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a crazy and fun pairing. Anna read hilarious passages from Zombies, and nearly everyone thought the pictures in that book were wonderful. Ruth agreed with Dr. A that Austen is a lovely writer, but Zombies seemed to win over the group.

ReplyDeleteI agree, I think it was a clever way to capture a wider audience and to give longtime fans a new take on the classic. I thought that both books were enjoyable to read. At first I was afraid that the original would be dry and difficult to interpret but I actually related to it. I was also scared that Zombies might be too gory for me but it wasn't it was a comical surprise:D
